Set of two mugs in extra fine Limoges porcelain with green Cannage Provence motif. One mug is the inverted motif of the other.
At each of his fashion shows, held in the salons of 30 Avenue Montaigne, Christian Dior would seat guests on elegant Napoleon III-style chairs with seats decorated in canework, a graphic code that has become an iconic House emblem. Reinterpreted by Cordelia de Castellane in various dimensions and unexpected proportions, this symbol has been enriched with a new version. On dessert plates, it interacts with two lucky charms dear to Dior’s heart: the clover and the bee, a nod to Christian Dior’s pet names for the virtuoso petites mains in the House’s ateliers.
