Silver-plated salad set with engraved Cannage motif. At each of his shows, Christian Dior would always seat his guests on elegant Napoleon III-style chairs in the 30 Avenue Montaigne sitting rooms. The chairs were adorned with Cannage, a graphic code that has become a House symbol.

For his first fashion show on February 12th, 1947, Christian Dior installed gold-tone Napoléon III chairs with Cannage seats behind the salons' Louis XVI couches, welcoming both clients and journalists. Without knowing it, Christian Dior regaled the House with a signature code that still inspires it today.
